Butch Taylor & the Penetrators” is a Connecticut based group who play a blend of penetrating, funky, blues-rock. Their originals are inspired from the traditional blues of Freddie King and Willie Dixon, the psychedelic sounds of Jimi Hendrix, and Cream, and the deep funk of Sly & the Family Stone and Tower of Power. With the release of their CD, “Don’t Tell Me Nothin’,” Butch Taylor & the Penetrators have been a band in demand.

Butch Taylor is a published songwriter and has played in numerous road and local bands as well as recorded and composed music for videos and film. He has toured and recorded with artists on RCA, Arista, and Epic Records playing with such artists as Vicki Sue Robinson, James Ingram, Denise Williams, Patty Austin, and Debra Cox. Butch has performed both nationally and internationally and appeared on major television shows such as Don Kirchner’s Rock Concert, the Midnight Special, and the Merv Griffin Show. He has performed at major clubs and arenas around the country such as the Starwood in L.A., the Boarding House in San Francisco, and the Bottom Line, the Felt Forum, and Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The Penetrators have been playing in the Connecticut tri-state area achieving wide recognition for their dynamic musicianship and seasoned professionalism. In 1998 they were semi-finalists in the Guinness Fleadh Unsigned Band Competition, and in 2000 they were finalists in the National Independent Music Awards (sponsored by Musician’s Atlas). Currently the band is recording their second album.
